EveryDollar works to ensure your bank account remains seamless, however, an interruption can occur when a change is made by the institution or the third-party bank connection providers. This guide walks you through the most common issues you could see with your bank connection.

Error Messages
If there is an error code present on the bank account, you should address the prompt underneath it to remove the code. If there is an error code present on the bank account with no prompt, no worries. You should check the our Bank Error Codes page to review how to address the prompt.
You'll find the error codes listed here: Bank Error Codes.
Pro Tip: When connecting your bank, make sure to use the same credentials you use to sign in to your banking portal rather than your EveryDollar login credentials.
Transaction Streaming
If you connect your banks, and notice that your transactions haven't immediately imported to your budget. That's okay. Here's what's happening:
When you first connect (or reconnect) your bank account, your account balances will update and transactions will appear within one to three days. A delay can occur because banks have their own rate at which they make transactions available for syncing.
If three days, excluding weekends and bank holidays, have passed since the initial connection, and you haven't seen your transactions come through, send us a message and we'll be glad to help.
Missing and Delayed Transactions
EveryDollar only imports posted transactions and each institution sets its own standard for how frequently transactions move from pending to posted status. We expect posted transactions to stream in to your budget every one to three days, excluding weekends and bank holidays.
Banks may put additional holds on deposits or expenses, which can cause a further delay.
If you notice an individual transaction is missing, and the mentioned time frame has passed since the transaction was posted, reach out to our team.
Pro Tip: Checking your bank statement or bank account regularly helps ensure your transactions are coming through in the expected time frame.

Duplicate Transactions
If a transaction comes through twice, check the Accounts page and verify that your bank is only listed one time. If it's only listed once, and you're seeing duplicates still, reach out to our team.
Pro Tip: If you are seeing "Pending" transactions, that means your bank is one of a select few that submits unfinished "Pending" data alongside "Posted" transactions. This may cause duplicate transactions in your budget.
You can learn more about Duplicate Transactions through this guide: Duplicate Transactions.
