EveryDollar does not automatically categorize your spending or link bank transactions directly to a Goal, Fund, Debt, or budget item. This hands-on approach is designed to help you stay aware of where your money is going and make intentional decisions with EveryDollar.

Automatic categorization cannot always accurately identify what you purchased, especially at retailers such as Amazon or Target, where one transaction may include several different types of items that should be tracked to various budget items. Reviewing and assigning transactions yourself keeps your budget accurate.
EveryDollar Premium can import transactions from connected bank accounts, but you still choose the appropriate budget item for each transaction.
You can manually track transactions with either the free or Premium version of EveryDollar.
