A single transaction can be split among different Categories or Budget Items within EveryDollar. Maybe you purchased some food, shampoo, and a shirt at Walmart. You can split that single transaction between your Groceries, Health and Beauty, and Clothing budget items. We'll show you how to do it on the mobile app!
Splitting a Transaction on Mobile
- Tap the Transactions tab in the bottom menu to reveal your transactions.
- Tap the transaction you want to split.
- Tap Budget Item(s) in the middle.
- Tap on the Budget Items for the split. Then tap Save at the bottom.
- Enter the split amounts for all the budget items you selected. Make sure they add up to the full transaction amount. You can see the amount remaining in the blue bar in the middle of the screen.
- Tap Done
Next Steps
You can only split a single transaction in a single month. You would need to create a separate transaction in a different month if you want to split a single transaction between multiple months.
