This a helpful guide to connecting your bank account on EveryDollar.com and EveryDollar mobile using Plaid or Mastercard Connect. After connecting, you can manage your linked sub-accounts and select which ones you’d like transactions to import from. For your security, direct connections using routing and account numbers aren’t supported.
How to Connect
- Sign in to your account from EveryDollar.com on a computer or laptop.
- Locate the Accounts icon and select it. Accounts live at the bottom of the screen in EveryDollar mobile and in the left-hand menu on EveryDollar.com.
- On the Accounts page, click Connect Account.
- Tap Search For Your Institution with Plaid. Follow the prompts to search for your bank by name or website (i.e. First Bank OR firstbank.com).
- For a smooth connection experience, manually enter the same login information you normally use to sign in to your bank's website rather than using an auto-fill tool.
- Follow the steps on screen to complete the connection.
Pro Tip: If you have any trouble connecting through our connection provider, Plaid, try our other provider, Mastercard Connect, instead. Follow steps one through three then choose Mastercard Connect on step four.
Connected Accounts
Now that you're connected, you’ll see a list of all of the sub-accounts you have open at this bank (checking, savings, money market account, credit cards, etc.).
If you don't want EveryDollar to connect to one or more of the accounts, click the account you wish to remove for more options. Some larger banks require that all accounts remain connected in order to stream transactions. For these banks, you can instead choose to not stream the accounts instead of removing them.
Learn about turning off transactions streaming here: How to Turn Off Transaction Streaming.
Note: It is not possible to connect bank accounts via routing numbers and account numbers for security purposes.
Next Steps
Now that you're connected, you'll see your transactions begin streaming to your budget. Check for new transactions daily to build good budgeting habits and keep your budget up-to-date.
