The Emergency Fund line item cannot be deleted from your budget in EveryDollar. The Savings group is built-in to the budget and cannot be deleted. Since the Emergency Fund line item is part of the Savings group, it also cannot be removed from the budget.
Options for the Emergency Fund
If you are not currently saving toward an emergency fund, you can choose from the options below:
- Leave the Emergency Fund planned amount set to $0.
- Leave the Current Balance at $0 if you do not have money saved.
- Leave the Emergency Fund as-is until you are ready to use it.
The Emergency Fund line item will remain available in your budget if you decide to start building an emergency fund in the future.
