Here is how to add a new budget item (also called a line item) on the computer version of EveryDollar at everydollar.com:
- Navigate to the bottom of the budget group you would like to add a budget item to.
- Click Add Item to add a new budget item inside a budget group. A default name of "Label" is created.
- Type the name you would like the budget item to be called, then hit return/enter on your keyboard. The "Planned" amount will not be selected for editing.
Your new item will now be listed at the bottom of the budget group. You can move your new budget item by following the directions in this article: How to Rearrange Budget Items.
💡 Pro Tip: If you already created a future month's budget, your new budget items will not automatically carry forward. You will need to reset a future month's budget to reflect changes. Read about that here: How to Reset the Budget.
