Transactions: Take Photo or Upload Receipts
Sometimes it can take several days for purchases to post from debit and credit card purchases. By the time the charge is posed it may be difficult to recall how the purchases should be allocated into the different budgeting buckets. I would like to see functionality where we can use the camera and/or upload photos of receipts from recent purchases to help recall what items were purchased when the items post. While it would be ideal with the every dollar app could help to read the receipt total and suggest pairing a copy of the receipt you uploaded with the actual charge when it posts. In a perfect world, the app would be able to help suggest how items could be categorized as groceries, housewares, medications, health/beauty, etc when purchased from discount-type store such as Wal-Mart or Target.
However, in the interest of time to development, I would be delighted to see progress made just with the simple ability to take/upload images of receipts to reference when charges post several days after the original purchase.
For reference, our company uses a Concur expense report app, which allows for us to take pictures of receipts, which it later helps to suggest if they should be paired with credit card charges when they post a few days later. Within the concur expense report app, if receipts cannot be automatically matched with purchases, they end up in an “uploaded receipts” area of the app to reference.

I agree, it would be great to save an image like this. I would like to have this for tax purposes. As a pastor, I am required to maintain proof of all household related purchases. It would be great to have this all in one place.

It’s just about the details. As part of a couple managing budgets, I need to verify what each transaction is for more specifically. I’m also a personal rep for a disabled person and need to keep track of everything I spend for him. It’s not just about counting the pennies for me, I need to inc that picture of the receipt showing details. If I ran a business, I’d also need the same thing.
It’s a HUGE oversight that we can’t include an image. I don’t need auto read and store or all that nonsense, just a simple picture!!!
*I’ve bought items without a receipt occasionally and have to make do with a picture of the item itself. The app I currently use is free, called check register, and it’s straightforward: amount, account, picture. But i can’t budget ahead easily and i need the features from every dollar. I was honestly SHOCKED that the basic features on an app owned by less than a few thousand ppl isn’t baseline on the big budget apps. It’s like wth? 🥴0 -
I would love to have the ability to upload receipts or documents for future tracking.
