Budget: Color Differentiation for "Safe to spend" vs Over Budget
With the paycheck planning tool, there are some smaller expenses/budget items which may not be set to a due/available date. For instance, say I fill my gas tank one day earlier than paycheck planning has it set to. Or maybe gas cost fluctuated up one week and down the next.
I would like it if the dollar amount didn't change directly from green to red based on “safe to spend,” but rather, based on over-budget status.
Ideally, a midpoint color of yellow would be helpful if the line item is over the projected amount for paycheck planning, yet still within budget.

I think this would be helpful. In addition, I would like to see a red green for the whole budget. For all the categories overspent sum them in a single red number for the entire budget, similarly, all the categories left greet, sum them and put them in a single number. While the individual categories are helpful at a detailed level, I also could use an over spent and safe number for the entire budget at any given time. This would allow me to not only adjust categories, but balance the whole budget at a glance at any given moment during the month. I could quickly see if spending needed to stop, or if we had a little wiggle room. Because, let's be honest, something unexpected always happens and one category goes over, but if you see how much you have as a whole, you can look for the details of where to move money around, so that the budget still stays green for that month.
