We encourage customers to use a debit card instead of using a credit card. If you do use a credit card for expenses, keep in mind that when you use it to make purchases you are not using your income at that point but just adding new debt. You are not actually using your income until you pay off the credit card.
There are a few ways you can handle credit card transactions in EveryDollar:
1) When you make a purchase using your credit card you simply drag the credit card transaction that comes through into the corresponding budget item. If you do this for all of your credit card purchases during a month you need to make sure you are paying off (in full) all of those credit card transaction amounts exactly, otherwise, you are not accurately handling your budget.

2) You can just delete all of the credit card transactions that come through during a month and then at the end of the month when you go to pay off the card with a lump sum payment you can do a split transaction to divide the payment up between all of the applicable budget items. This is a more accurate way to handle it because you are actually using your income to pay for the items purchased this way.
The steps to split a transaction are outlined for you here: https://help.everydollar.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038321391-How-do-I-split-transactions-
